Raimo Utriainen’s bronze sculpture Icy Sea is a memorial to winter navigation. The work stands beside the River Aura near the Port of Turku, where merchant and cargo vessels have operated for centuries.

In the sculpture, two powerful seafarers with angular facial features stand on an element resembling the bow of a ship, possibly gazing out to sea. One figure appears to be shielding his face from the biting wind.
