Kati Rapia’s artwork City of Animals is located in the surroundings of the school Paattisten koulu and the community centre Ypsilon in Yli-Maaria. The work consists of two signposts pointing towards animals’ habitats. It combines scientific knowledge of the area’s ecology with humour and imagination.

The work was created together with local residents through workshops in which information was collected about the animals living in the area and stories were developed based on this knowledge.
