Schroderus\u2019 Sculptures Move to the President\u2019s Official Residence<\/h1>\n\n \n

Kimmo Schroderus\u2019s sculptures, exhibited in the gardens of Kultaranta, The President of the Republic of Finland\u2019s summer residence, this summer, will be relocated to M\u00e4ntyniemi, the President\u2019s official residence in Helsinki, for the winter season. M\u00e4ntyniemi will open its doors to the public on 18 September 2026.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sculpture exhibition Growth<\/em>, presented at Kultaranta, closed on 30 August 2026. Held annually in the grounds of the President of the Republic\u2019s summer residence, the exhibition showcases contemporary Finnish sculpture in a unique setting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The four works by Kimmo Schroderus displayed at Kultaranta \u2013 Fourth Thought<\/em> (2022), Party Monster<\/em> (2023), Undercover<\/em> (2026) and Second Thought<\/em> (2022) \u2013 will be relocated to M\u00e4ntyniemi in September. The sculptures will be on view in the garden of the President\u2019s official residence until spring 2027. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition is organised in cooperation with the Office of the President of the Republic, the Alfred Kordelin Foundation and WAM Museum of Contemporary Art. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visitors will have the opportunity to view the works on 18 September, when M\u00e4ntyniemi hosts an open house. Kimmo Schroderus will be present to meet visitors. Further information about visiting hours is available on the website of the Office of the President of the Republic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kimmo Schroderus (b. 1970) is renowned for his large-scale, futuristic sculptures made of acid-resistant stainless steel. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Helsinki and the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. In 2004, he was awarded the prestigious Ars Fennica Prize. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Alfred Kordelin Foundation and the Office of the President of the Republic have organised sculpture exhibitions at Kultaranta since 2011. From 2026 onwards, Turku-based WAM Museum of Contemporary Art has joined the partnership and is responsible for producing the exhibitions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
